FUNDRAISING 2026 CAMPAIGN!!!
To ensure CAFE remains a strong voice during this critical transition period, we have launched a Summer 2026 Campaign with a goal of raising $20,000 by September 30. These funds will help cover advocacy, education, communications, coalition-building, candidate outreach, and legislative preparation expenses necessary to continue our work through the election and into the 2027 legislative session.
The tobacco and nicotine industries have access to billions of dollars and spend millions every year protecting their interests. While we send this letter asking for your support, tobacco companies are investing heavily in lobbying, political contributions, and relationship-building efforts designed to protect their profits. Just this month, Phillip Morris International is sponsoring the Governor’s Gala in the Garden at Terrace Hill.
That is the reality we face.
We don’t have their money, but we do have people who care about the health of Iowans and are committed to reducing Iowa’s cancer burden.
That is why we are asking you today to help us reach our $20,000 goal by making a contribution to CAFE Iowa CAN. If you have supported CAFE in the past, please consider increasing your contribution. If you have never given before, there has never been a more important time to invest in this work.
If you already gave you, please consider making another donation so we can provide a smokefree work place for every casino worker and prevent even 1 more teen from becoming addicted to nicotine. Even $10 dollars helps us meet that goal. A sustaining monthly donation helps us plan for the coming year and makes it easy to support tobacco prevention efforts in Iowa.
Thank you for your past support. Tobacco is still the number one preventable cause of death and disease in Iowa and CAFE is going to keep speaking up at every committee meeting, every town hall, and to every legislator to push back against big tobacco.
